Well, I expected the Sporepedia to reach over 1 million creations in fairly short order, but this is quite astounding.

As of right now if you go to the Sporepedia you will see the number is well above 1,000,000. Even when you consider that some of those creatures are probably “inappropriate” and scheduled for deletion, that is huge!

So what’s next? Can it continue to grow at such a pace?

How many Spore creations by the end of the year?

  • 5-10 million (35%, 61 Votes)
  • 10-20 million (22%, 38 Votes)
  • Less than 5 million (-18%, 21 Votes)

just for randomness...i made a quick calculation of how much memory all the spore creatures are taking
    average of 6 more complex creatures ( 27.63 28.45 27.6 30.38 28.6 29.45 /6) = 28.685 (KB)* 1,047,063 (creatures) = 30035002.155 (KB)
which is... 29331.1 Megabytes or 28.64 Gigabytes

Ah well then, they should be able to handle hundreds of millions of creatures ;-)

Already the daily new creature count is dropping below six figures. Will be interesting to see when that plateaus. One thing is for sure, there will be plenty of creatures to populate your world when Spore is release in September ;-)
