Ran into an interesting popup today while creating my inevitable daily creature…

Too many? Inconceivable! You can never have too many photos of anything! </photographic geek>

For those wondering about the magic number, I had around 200 files in the saved pictures folder at the time. That’s not 200 photos though as each shot creates two files, typically.

Given the creativity sure to be inspired by the Creator it seems a little odd that such a small limitation would be placed on the number of pictures you are able to take.

Has anyone else run into any strange limitations such as this? And has anyone downloaded the patch that is available (thanks, Jube) and found the limitation removed?

And because that isn’t enough questions, has anyone patched the game and had it still work fine afterwards? Wydraz on the Spores Illustrated forums posted a warning that there are some issues

And I know I didn’t post a challenge last week but you’ll probably want to be sure to check in for this Friday’s challenge… I will (hopefully) have something a little special this week.

That is true the patch didn't really add much. It probably just updates it to the final shipping build anyway, so when you install the game it should already be set for you, or it will be in the initial download patch, if there is one.

I haven't installed patch yet - haven't been having any issue with CC since I updated graphics driver in the early days. With SPORE a week away, I figure you have to remove CC before installing SPORE anyway (like going from Trial to Full-CC), so I'll let SPORE dictate what I should do there rather than worry about the patch ;-) I will however be copying the My Spore Creations folder next week, just in case...
  • That's part of why I'm reluctant to bother as well. It works fine for me and for what I do with it, why fiddle with it?
    One more week!

You can always move the photos to a non game folder, not sure why they would have that limit imposed though.

I played after the patch for a little while last night and didn't notice any differences. Upon looking at it again I did notice that all my previous saved creatures reappeared, I am used to that happening because I have had it happen before when I had to retrieve lost creatures that went missing from my game. Losing creatures didn't happen that I have noticed yet, though it may have, however I upload most all of my finished creatures anyway so I can get them from there most of the time.
  • I think that's what they mean by "archive" them. Me, I just deleted some old ones. No big deal.

Having deleted multiples before I'm not sure I want to go through it again. ;)
