Name: Menacing Blue Citadel
Type: Building (HQ)
Description: This menacing blue citadel has a number of locations from which the ruler may address his faithful minions.

Notes:
The Headquarters building is the first building you create once you make the step into the Civilization phase of the game.
Painting buildings is both very easy, but also very difficult. Picking the right texture to mix with the right colour and which part of the building should be what colour can be troublesome when you want the buildings to match the creature’s colouration. My creatures are so vain!

There’s plenty of presets available for buildings, just as there are for creatures, and the textures available are equally extensive. Eventually I managed to get something I was happy with.

Being a militaristic civilization I decided to have a lot of spikes on the buildings and to have them look menacing in general. On reflection though, black and dark blue is perhaps not the best combination since it makes everything look very dark and indistinguishable. Not a big problem for the buildings since you don’t typically interact with them, but if you’ve been unfortunate enough to face some of my vehicles during a planet’s night… I apologise. ;-)

Note that the image is clickable this time. It’s not possible to get a black background shot of the buildings (as far as I know) so I had to take one with the background, so I left the image a little larger, too.
